How do I transfer images from the thermal camera to my PC?

The camera can connect to a PC like a USB Drive using the supplied USB-A to USB-C cable. USB-C to USC-C is not supported.

For computers with only USB-C ports we recommend using an adapter or hub with USB-A Ports. Note: turn off USB Cast Screen.

How do I download images from the thermal camera to my mobile device?

HIKMICRO Viewer App connects your thermal camera and mobile device over Wi-Fi or the camera’s Hotspot. Connect your mobile device to the camera’s Hotspot, then download pictures in Viewer “On Device Files”.

How does the thermal camera connect to a mobile device?

Download HIKMICRO Viewer App and then connect your mobile device’s Wi-Fi to the Thermal Camera’s Hotspot. (Name = serial number Default Password = 12345678. )

Note: No Internet Connection Required. Wi-Fi to PC not supported.

In HIKMICRO Viewer my iOS device says incorrect password. What should I do?

Try in this way:

1. Turn off Wi-Fi Assist. Find it in iOS Settings – Cellular. Near the bottom

2. Turn off Mobile Data for HIKMICRO Viewer. Find it in iOS main settings

3. Choose ‘Keep Trying Wi-Fi’ in a prompt to keep using camera’s Hotspot

Can the thermal camera see pipes and termites inside walls?

Although thermal cameras see differences in temperature at the surface only, there are times the camera can detect anomalies inside walls by how heat flows through the wall (conduction) such as a warm pipe heating the material or voids from insects.

Water Leak Inspection

Hidden water can wreak havoc on insulation, wood, electrical components and, eventually, finishes when it does reveal itself. As long as the conditions are right, thermal imaging will find the leakage area though showing the temperature variances between water and surrounding materials.
